- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net buyers of 13,500 contracts of soybeans, 6,500 contracts of corn and 2,000 contracts of wheat.
- According to analysts, the corn production in Brazil will reach 108.2 million tons in 2020/21, which is 5.5% more than the production in 2019/20. The highest estimate is given by Safras & Mercado - 113.46 million tons and the lowest by Refinitiv - 105.2 million tons.
- Rabobank has raised its forecast for the soybean production in Brazil in 2020/21 by 1.5 million tons to 132.5 million tons.
- According to Oil World, soybean crush in Argentina rose to 3.2 million tons in January from 815,000 tons in December, when there were mass strikes and blockades, and 2.3 million tons in January 2020. At the end of January, Argentina's soymeal stocks were 610,000 tons (723,000 tons in December) and soyoil stocks were 311,000 tons (359,000). Sunseed crush reached 165,000 tons (15,000), sunseed oil stocks were 58,000 tons (54,000) and sunseed meal stocks were 40,000 tons (21,000).
- According to the Statistical Service of Ukraine, as of 01.02.2021 the cereals stocks in Ukraine reach 18.2 million tons, which is 3.5 million tons less than the previous year, including wheat stocks of 5.1 million tons (-12%), corn stocks of 11.5 million tons (-13%), barley stocks of 903,600 tons (-49%) and sunseed stocks of 4.3 million tons (-32%).
- According to the European Commission, in the week of February 15 - 21, imports of corn into the EU reached 241,300 tons compared to 139,600 tons a week earlier. Since the beginning of the season, total corn imports have reached 10.38 million tons (-28% or 14.3 million tons), including 40% from Brazil and 38% from Ukraine .
- Saudi Arabia has purchased 355,000 tons of milling wheat with 12.5% protein from Australia, Canada and Ukraine at a price of 330.04 USD/ton C&F and delivery in the period of May - December 2021.
- On 23.02.2021, Jordan purchased 60,000 tons of feed barley of any origin at a price of 264.50 USD/ton C&F and delivery in early September.
