According to the forecast of the USDA attaché in Brazil, soybean areas in the country will reach 40 million hectares in 2021/22 compared to 38.5 million hectares in 2020/21.

- According to data from the European Commission, 20.26 million tons of wheat were exported from the EU over the period of 01.07 - 04.04.2021, which is 23% less than the previous year. Exports to Algeria reached 4.46 million tons (3.96), China - 1.76 million tons (1.42) and Nigeria - 1.75 million tons (1.14). Wheat exports from EU countries were:

  • France - 5.7 million tons
  • Germany - 2.6 million tons
  • Lithuania - 2.6 million tons
  • Poland - 2.5 million tons

During the week 29.03 - 04.04.2021, wheat exports reached 174,800 tons.

- In February, soybean crush in the United States reached 4.47 million tons, according to Oil World estimates compared to 4.77 million tons in February 2020. The figure is the lowest for the last 17 months. Soyoil production during the month reached 0.88 million tons (1.05) and soymeal production reached 3.55 million tons (4.23). In February, soyoil exports were 0.1 million tons (0.15 million tons in January and 0.18 million tons in February 2020) and soymeal exports were 1.23 million (1.32 and 1.26). During the period of October - February, soybean crush reached 30.2 million tons in the US (+3.6%), soyoil - 4.97 million tons (+5.3%) and soymeal - 20.19 million tons (+4%).

- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net buyers of 500 corn contracts and 4,000 soybean contracts and net sellers of 1,000 wheat contracts.

- According to a forecast of the USDA attaché in Brazil, soybean areas in the country will reach 40 million hectares in 2021/22 compared to 38.5 million hectares in 2020/21. The soybean production is projected at 141 million tons compared to 134 million tons in 2020/21. Soybean exports are estimated at 85 million tons compared to 87 million tons in the previous year.

- The government of South Korea will temporarily cancel the tax on imports of certain cereals, including corn. The goal is to reduce food inflation.

- Tunisia has announced a tender for the import of 75,000 tons of milled wheat. Nearly 250,000 tons of cereals were purchased at the previous tender.
