- Given the high corn prices, analysts expect a decline in consumption and a newly-established feed alternative. For now, futures have high prices and the physical market is lagging behind. Consumers do not want to pay so much and wait. However, it is possible that they will be forced to do so at a rapid pace, if the potential damage to crops around the world becomes a fact.

- Since the beginning of the season, exports of barley from Ukraine reached a total of 4.07 million tons, which is 5% less than the previous season. 131,000 tons of barley were exported in March (+116% compared to February and -58% compared to March 2020). Since the beginning of the season, the biggest customer is China with a share of 69%. Other major customers are Saudi Arabia, Israel, Algeria, Jordan, the EU and Qatar.

- In the second half of April, good amount of rainfall fell in Ukraine. At the end of the month, moisture reserves across the country are excellent.

- The Ukrainian Grain Association sees no preconditions for exceeding export quotas in 2020/21. The total export of cereals and oilseeds will be 47 million tons. So far, 37.9 million tons of grain have been exported, which is 12 million tons less than last year, including wheat exports of 14.8 million tons (-22%) and corn exports 18.36 million tons (-29%).

- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net sellers of 2,500 contracts of corn and 9,000 contracts of soybeans and net buyers of 3,500 contracts of wheat.

- On 28.04.2021, the state company of Egypt GASC bought 64,000 tons of soyoil at a price of 1,255 - 1,263 USD/ton and delivery within 21.06 - 15.07.2021.
