- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net buyers of 22,500 contracts of corn, 17,500 contracts of soybeans and 6,500 contracts of wheat.
- According to Deral, in the Brazilian state of Paraná (a key area for soybean production in the country), there is a significant deterioration in the condition of soybean crops in the absence of moisture. As of January 1, 2022, 30% of the crops are in good and excellent condition (57% a week earlier), 39% in fair condition (30%) and 31% in poor condition (13%). Now, 13% of the crops are in the growing stage, 31% are flowering, 49% are in the grain pouring phase and 7% are ripening. The soybean production is projected to reach 20.99 million tons (19.77 years earlier).
- At the end of December, Malaysia's palm oil stocks were 1.73 million tons (-4.9% for the month), the lowest level in five months. Palm oil production in December was 1.49 million tons (-8.6%), which is the lowest level since March 2021. Palm oil exports from Malaysia reached 1.4 million tons (-1.4%).
