China Increased Oilseed Oil Import In January

According to information from Oil World, 814,000 tons of oilseed oil were imported into China in January versus 765,000 tons in January 2015.

Palm oil marked the highest growth of +12% up to 552,000 tons. 389,000 tons of palm oil (380,000) were imported from Indonesia with 163,000 tons (111,000) more imported from Malaysia.

There has been growth in soybean oil import - 36,000 tons (14,000), including 30,000 tons from the USA.

There has been decline in sunflower oil import - 34,000 tons (58,000), including 13,000 tons (13,000) from Russia and 17,000 tons (42,000) from Ukraine. Sunflower oil deliveries are expected to grow in the following months.

Rapeseed oil import in China was 81,000 tons (85,000), including 78,000 tons (83,000) from Canada.

8.19 mln tons of oilseeds were imported in China in January (5.97 mln tons in January 2015).

Soybean purchases measured 7.66 mln tons (5.66), including 6.78 mln tons (4.63) from the USA, 69,000 tons (188,000) from Argentina and 253,000 tons (621,000) from Brazil.

Monthly rapeseed import was 393,000 tons (140 000) including 368,000 tons (135,000) from Canada.
