During the period October - May 2016 – 2017 global synflower oil export is at record high
According to Oil World, during the period October - May 2016 – 2017 global synflower oil export from the three major exporters Russia, Ukraine and Argentina reaches 6.17 million tonnes, by 1.3 million tonnes above the previous season and it is all time record high.

At the same time, the share of sunflower oil export out of the total global oil export is rising by 2% to 15%.

From Ukraine, 4.17 million tonnes of sunflower oil (3.26) were exported, and 1.59 million tonnes (1.23) from  Russia. Export from Argentina drops to 415,000 tonnes (473,000).

In the EU, sunflower oil import reached 1.12 million tonnes (1.06), India 1.57 million tonnes (1.07), Iran 416,000 tonnes (168,000), Egypt 507,000 tonnes (277,000), China 537,000 tonnes (644,000) , in Turkey 558,000 tonnes (582,000).
