In 2016 – 2017 sunflower oil export from Russia will be at record high
According to Oil World, in October - May 2016 – 2017 sunflower oil export from the three major exporters - Russia Ukraine and Argentina will be 6.17 million tonnes, by 1.3 million tonnes more than the previous year and an all time record high.

At the same time, the share of sunflower oil export out of the total global oil export is rising by 2% to 15%. From Ukraine, 4.17 million tonnes of sunflower oil (3.26) were exported, and 1.59 million tonnes (1.23) from  Russia. Export from Argentina drops to 415,000 tonnes (473,000).

Major buyers are the EU 1.12 million tonnes (1.06), India 1.57 million tonnes (1.07), Iran 416,000 tonnes (168,000), Egypt 507,000 tonnes (277,000), China 537,000 tonnes (644,000) , in Turkey 558,000 tonnes (582,000).

According to ProZerno, in 2016 - 2017, export of sunflower oil from Russia will be 1.75 million tonnes, which will be a record figure. The previous largest volume was 1.66 million tonnes in 2013-2014.

In October - May 2016 – 2017 the export of soybean oil from Russia is 500,000 tonnes and that of rapeseed oil 225,000 tonnes.

During the period September - May 2016 – 2017 the production of all oils in Russia reaches 4.5 million tonnes (3.9), incl. of sunflower 3.65 million tonnes (3.1).
