Yesterday, Algeria carried out a tender for the purchase of 50,000 tonnes of milling wheat of optional origin and for September shipment.

The previous auction was held on June 7th, 2017. And  450,000 - 480,000 tonnes of wheat were purchased at price of 197.25 - 199.50 USD / mt, C&F and for August shipment.

Jordan announced a tender for the purchase of 100,000 tonnes of hard milling wheat of optional origin.

Iraq holds a tender for the purchase of 50,000 tonnes of hard wheat. Only three offers were placed, while at the previous auction there were over 10 sellers. The lowest price is of the Australian wheat - 318.77 USD / mt, C&F. Analysts expect that there won’t be any deals at the auction because of the high price.

South Korea's NOFI bought 6,000 tonnes of palm kernel meal from Southeast Asia. The price is USD 115 / mt, C&F.

In the eleven months of 2016 - 2017 Pakistan reduces import of soybean oil compared to the previous year by 35.35%. 87,500 tonnes of soybean oil were imported into the country given 134,900 tonnes a year earlier. Import of palm oil rose 12.76% to 2.4 million tonnes.

Japan announced a tender for the purchase of 91,700 tonnes of wheat from the USA for shipment from August 21st - September 20th 2017.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the South African Republic raised its forecast for soybean crop in the country in 2017 - 2018 to the record 1.34 million tonnes, which is + 81% more than 2016 - 2017. - 0.74 million tonnes. The sunflower crop will be 0.82 million tonnes (-4% and 0.75 million tonnes).
