According to Oil World, in May 2017, for 7th month in a row, canola export from Australia exceeds the figure from the previous year and reaches 224,000 tonnes given 61,000 tonnes in May 2016.

Strong export is supported by strong demand for canola by the EU -  179,000 tonnes in May (52,000).

During the period January - May 2017, Australian canola export to the EU reached 2.2 million tonnes (0.9) and 3.07 million tonnes (1.7) between October and May.

In the first eight months of the season, Australia exported the record 3.4 million tonnes of canola (1.8). Besides the EU, canola is exported to China 119,000 tonnes (0) and others.

After the strong first months of the season, canola stocks in Australia fell sharply, suggesting very limited export during the period July-September 2017.
