SovEcon has revised its forecast for wheat production in Russia, suddenly increasing it by 5 million tons to 92.1 million tons (up from the previous estimate of 87.1 million tons).
APK-Inform forecasts the grain production in 2023/24 in Ukraine at 53.1 million tons (53.9 in 2022/23), including wheat production of 20.6 million tons (-1%), barley production of 5.5 million tons (-1%), and corn production of 25.5 million tons (-2%).
During the week ending on August 10, wheat exports from Russia reached 1.2 million tons (1 year earlier). The last time such an export level occurred was in August 2021.
Once again, IKAR has increased its forecast for the 2023/24 wheat production in Russia by 1.5 million tons to 89.5 million tons, and the total grain production by 2 million tons to 139 million tons, including an increase of the barley production estimate of +0.5 million tons.
SovEcon forecasts the wheat production for 2023/24 in Ukraine at 19.2 million tons (+1.3 compared to the previous estimate), the corn production is estimated at 25.9 million tons (+2), and barley production is expected at 4.8 million tons (+0.4).
