4.75 mln tons of wheat were imported in Brazil between August 2016 and February 2017 according to information from Trigo & Farinhas Consultancy. Import has increased by 59% versus the previous year.
AgRural reported that, as of March 9, 2017 56% of soybean areas in Brazil have been harvested, which is 4% higher than the previous year and 9% more than the average index for the past five years.
Oil World reported that 1.41 mln tons of rapeseed were exported from Canada in January 2017 – a record monthly level. Export was 0.62 mln tons in January 2016.
Japanese Ministry of Agriculture has announced a regular auction for the purchase of 146,455 tons of milling wheat from the USA and Canada to be delivered between April 21 and June 20, 2017.
