Corn stocks in South Africa go 20% down

SAGIS report that corn stocks in China have dropped by 20% compared with the previous year.

Stocks were 3.12 mln tons on December 31, 2016, which marks a 20%-drop compared with December 2015, including 1.601 mln tons of white corn (-33%).

The weak harvest during the season, resulting from the continuos drought, is the reason for the decline. The harvest went down by 24% in 2016 compared with 2015, down to 7.537 mln tons. White corn harvest decreased by 31% down to 3.254 mln tons.
