Brazil To Harvest Record Corn And Soybean Yields

Private broker company INTL FCStone increased its forecast on this season's soybean yield in Brazil from 109.07 mln tons to record high 111.6 mln tons. Corn yield forecast remains unchanged at 93.3 mln tons - another record.

More humidity is necessary to guarantee a good safrinha yield in the country, which is normally twio-thirds of the total yield.

Over the season, corn export from Brazil will reach 28 mln tons versus 18.9 mln tons in the previous season.

According to the latest Celeres forecast, corn yield in Brzil will be 97.71 mln tons in 2017 – 2018 including 33.7 mln tons of first harvest and 63.92 mln tons of safrinha. The growth is due to the larger areas and bigger production – up to 5,600 kg/hectare.

AgRural estimates the first corn yield in Brazil at 29.3 mln tons and safrinha at 61.5 mln tons.
