- In the first 9 months of the season, Lithuania became a leading wheat exporter to the EU. Deliveries during the period were 3.499 million tons (+31% compared to the same period last year and +11.1% compared to the whole 2019/20).
- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net sellers of 4,000 contracts of corn, 8,000 contracts of soybeans and 8,000 contracts of wheat.
- According to SECEX data, in the first half of June, soybean exports from Brazil fell to 5.1 million tons (6.3 million tons a year earlier). Exports of soymeal were 0.84 million tons (0.69) and soyoil exports reached 88,000 tons (160,000). Soybean processing in the country was 4.4 million tons (4.3)and it reaches a total of 14.3 million tons (14.9) over the period of January - April.
- At the end of May, sunseed stocks held by Russia's agricultural organizations reached only 194,000 tons, which is 30% less than last year. Wheat stocks reached 4,805 million tons (+74.7%).
- Over the period of January-May, 2.24 million tons of sunseed oil were exported from Ukraine, which is 29% less than the previous year - 3.17 million tons. India was the largest buyer with a share of 30.3%, followed by China with 15.7%, the Netherlands with 10.4%, Iraq with 8.7% and Spain with 6.9%.
- According to the DRV forecast, the wheat production in Germany will be 22.98 million tons in 2021 (+3.8% compared to 2020), winter barley production is projected at 9.03 million tons (+2.2%), spring barley production is estimated at 1.65 million tons, corn production is expected at 3.82 million tons (-5.1%) and winter rapeseed production is projected at 3.67 million tons (+4.6%).
- Iran has announced a tender for the purchase of 60,000 tons of milled wheat of any origin and delivery within July - August.
- After the cancellation of yesterday's tender for the purchase of wheat by GASC, there was a change in the conditions for organizing the tenders. Now, GASC will be able to organize the deliveries through submitted offers from logistics companies. This will not solve the problem of high prices, but it will solve the problem of shortage of transport vessels.
- Pakistan has become a strong corn competitor to India in Asian markets. Sales offers are 20 USD/ton below those of Indian traders, due to reduced demand. Pakistani corn is available in the port of Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) at a price of 282 USD/ton C&F. Prices for Southeast Asia are 305 USD/ton C&F. Brazilian corn is available in limited quantities at a price of 295 USD/ton FOB and American corn at a price of 306 USD/ton FOB.
- During summer, Iran is expected to import 300,000 tons of oilseeds to maintain local processing plants. The capacity of the Iranian plants is for a processing of 5.4 million tons of oilseeds per year.
