FAS USDA: Turkey increases wheat import up to 5 mln tons

FAS USDA predicts that Turkey will increase wheat import up to 5 mln tons during the current season (June – July). Import went down to 4.382 mln tons of wheat in the previous season, which is much lower than usual. This was due to the record yield.

On January 25, 2017, Israeli importers carried out an auction for the purchase of 85,000 tons of corn, 40,000 tons of wheat fodder and 25,000 tons of barley fodder. 85,000 tons of corn were actually purchased at 179.71 USD/ton C&F in a May contract in Chicago + 0,84 USD/bushel.

China has decreased grain import

Oil World reports that key grains import in China (wheat, corn, barley, sorghum) in December 2016 went down to 964,000 tons compared with 1.7 mln tons in December 2015.

Romania has increased grain export to non-EU countries

Romania increased grain export to non-EU countries in November 2016, information from the European Commission. Export reached 735,000 tons of grain, which is 43% higher than November of 2015 while its value was +32% up to 125 mln Euro.
