Oil World analysts projected that sunflower yield in Argentina will reach 3.4 mln tons in the current season compared with 2.83 mln tons in the previous year. This will be the highest index in the past five years.
Indonesian Association of Palm Oil reported that stocks in Indonesia decreased by 76% in 2016 compared with the previous year down to 1.07 mln tons with 4.5 mln tons at the end of 2015.
FranceAgriMer decreased its forecast on sunflower production, export and import into France in 2016 – 2017. The new estimate projects sunflower production in France at 1.223 mln tons with 1.225 mln tons in September and 1.186 mln tons in 2015 – 2016.
The Institute of Agricultural Economics in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso reported that 16% of soybean areas in the state were harvested before January 27, 2017.
Oil World analysts predict that sunflower production in the EU will grow up to 8.25 mln tons in 2016 - 2017, which is 0.66 mln tons more than 2015 - 2016.
Oil World reports that Argentina exported 79,000 tons of soybean in December 2016 compared with 77,000 tons in December 2015. China was the biggest buyer with 69,000 tons (69,000).
FAS USDA predicts that wheat import in Algeria will be 8.0 mln tons during the current season (July - June) compared with 8.2 mln tons during the previous season while barley import will be 600,000 tons (900,000). The decreased import is due to the increase in the domestic crops up to 2.7 mln tons (2.0) and barley up to 1.3 mln tons (1.0).
Oil World reports that 61,000 tons of rapeseed oil were imported in China in 2016 compared with 106,000 tons in December 2015, which is much lower than expected on the market. 60,000 tons of rapeseed (72,000) were delivered from Canada.
