In the current season, Saudi Arabia will increse wheat import by 19% versus the previous season to 3.5 mln tons. Import growth will continue into the new season according to FAS USDA's latest forecast.
Over the month of March, corn export from Brazil dropped to 243,000 tons, which was 50% less than February 2017 and 88% less than March 2016, according to information from the country's Ministry of Agriculture.
Over the first six months of the current season, which started in September, 27.9 mln tons of corn were exported from the USA, which is 75% more than the same period of last year.
Spring crops sowing in Bulgaria is running much faster than last year according to information from the country's Ministry of Agriculture. As of 30.03.2017, 23,500 hectares have been sowed with spring barley (+61% versus last year), 0.1433 mln hectares of corn (+1522%) and 0.1103 mln hectares of sunflower (+242%).
Wheat production in India will not be affected by the hot weather, because crops have already developed well enough in the main areas and are not vulnerable.
