Romania increased grain export to non-EU countries in November 2016, information from the European Commission. Export reached 735,000 tons of grain, which is 43% higher than November of 2015 while its value was +32% up to 125 mln Euro.
In its January report, Informa Economics Agency reduced its forecast for wheat fields in the USA in 2017 down to 45.8 mln acres with a forecast in December at 46.6 mln acres. USDA estimates areas of 48.5 mln acres.
100,000 of tons milling wheat from the USA at 173.53 – 254 USD/ton to be delivered between June 1 and July 5, 2017 were bought by South Korean companies at an auction on January 19, 2017.
Russian Ministry of Agriculture increased its forecast for grain export which is now estimated between 35 and 37 mln tons compared with exactly 35 mln tons in the previous forecast. Between the season start and January 18, 2017, 21,28 mln tons of grain were exported from the country compared with 21,344 mln tons a year earlier.
Ethanol import in China reached 124,823 cubic metres in December, which is 31% lower than December 2015. The decrease is due to the increase in domestic production following the drop in corn prices on the domestic market.
On January 14, 2017 (Saturday), Egypt's National Company GASC started an auction for wheat purchase, at which 235,000 tons of wheat were bought from Russia and Romania.
